Introduction
The section Manufacturing, Assembly, and Fabrication was focusing on quality. During the time I was in this section I read four books on quality assurance. The books offered Standards that I had to complete. Before I got to this I had to find the masses of 50 Hersey Kisses. After finding the masses, I put them in to Microsoft Excel. From there I worked on a Excel inputting data and learning terms for different calculations. I learned different ways to approach Excel and make some things easier. I learned what a X&R chart is as well as a CE diagram. During the process of making these charts I made a input calculation wrong, I realized that and quickly fixed it. The importance of quality assurance in manufacturing is great, doing this section showed how in depth and precise you have to be in order to get the correct data.
Standards
- Explain components of set up, machining, casting, molding, welding, and finishing
- Explain the role of quality control in manufacturing
- Measure with precision tools and instruments
- Explain the role of quality control in assembly and fabrication
- Identify the order and methodology of the assembly process
Evidence
The chart above is the final table of a project I did called "kisses". During this project I took a scale and measured the mass of 50 Hersey kisses. Turing ten shifts every day for five days. This shown as well as the means, range, minimums, and maximums for each shift.
